What is the importance of geometry in Native American art?
Geometric shapes and patterns, not necessarily the math portion geometry. Please send links to the site with information, but please do not sites trying to sell art. Thank you.
I'm not exactly a say with certainty, which is only a guess on my part, but back before the accounts were available more often create quill designs. That probably lends itself to geometric designs only more (still willing to try some day …), probably have more meaning certain forms the fact that it is geometric.

The Importance of Modern African American Art
If you are interested in adding African-American Modern Art your home collection or are just looking to integrate this art style into your decor, it is imperative that you learn more about the background and history. While many of us know the basic ideas which inspired African-American modern art, the more we know, better we can include this art in our homes and our hearts.
Interestingly, African-American modern art began long before the idea of "modern art" was conceived. As early back as slavery, African Americans were making iron pieces, pottery, blankets, baskets, cabinets, and silver. While many of these tasks were relegated to them, requires the highest craftsmanship and therefore the African American population became quite skilled in these offices. What is even more urgent this situation is that African Americans generally allowed to sell any work they did on their 'free time' for the benefits to be maintained, allowing them to buy their freedom from their masters.
But while most of these early examples of Modern Art in America African practical purposes, other African countries, the Americans began to create portraits as artistic pieces. Artists like Robert M. Douglas Jr. and Joshua Johnson taught the basics of painting and composition of their own or through private tutoring, as deemed by their owners or by abolitionists who wanted slaves to save to buy their freedom.
After the Civil War ended and slavery was outlawed, there was a resurgence in the modern movement the time of African American art. Parts of the work of these artists are displayed more prominently in museums and private homes. And although these works tend to include scenes of simple nature and portraits, which are still some fighting to get shown in public areas in the United States. In Europe, however, African Americans were much more successful in getting praise as well as samples of their work. Across the ocean, African Americans were able to test new styles of painting and art as they were generally accepted.
Entering the modern era of African American art, these artists were reinforced African American by the Harlem Renaissance movement. More artists who were never receive recognition for their work, thus opening the gap for African-American art, not only to be accepted but also celebrated in artistic circles. Even Roosevelt helped the African American art movement, with the passing of his Works Progress Administration.
Seeing the struggles that African American artists went on to enter this era of Modern Art African American, is easy to see how these pieces are valuable. When you brings a piece of African-American art at home, not only celebrates the artists of this time, but all generations that came before. To celebrate the history of a people who never have waived their talent, no matter how far others have tried to push down.
