Anyone know of a good resource for ceramic tile painting?

I'm thinking about redecorating my kitchen soon, and as part of the redecoration I want to ceramic tiles on the walls like a splash guard. When thinking about decorating the room, I thought it would be really great to have Mediterranean design on the tiles. Obviously, the purchase value of a quarter of Mediterranean ceramic tiles can be expensive, and I am considering whether or not I I do the same painting. The only problem is that I know nothing of painting ceramics. I was hoping someone could point me to some very good websites or books that would useful to begin with.
